These Terms of Service govern your use of MatchUp ("the Bot") — a Discord scheduling bot. By adding MatchUp to a server or interacting with it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please remove the bot from your server.
Acceptance of Terms
By inviting MatchUp to your Discord server, using any of its slash commands, or interacting with any message or reaction it posts, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
If you are adding the bot on behalf of a server or organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these terms.
Description of Service
MatchUp is a free Discord bot that helps communities coordinate availability through reaction-based polls. Its features include:
- Multi-day, multi-slot availability polls with timezone and DST support
- Automatic best-slot detection based on minimum player thresholds
- DM reminders for non-responders
- Server configuration, role-based management, and per-poll settings
- Slash commands for creating, viewing, and managing polls
MatchUp is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid tiers, modify features, or discontinue the service at any time with reasonable notice.
Eligibility
You must meet Discord's minimum age requirements (13 years old in most countries, 16 in the EU) to use MatchUp. By using the bot, you confirm you meet these requirements.
Server administrators are responsible for ensuring that MatchUp is used appropriately within their communities and in compliance with Discord's Community Guidelines.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use MatchUp to:
- Abuse, spam, or flood Discord channels with bot commands
- Attempt to exploit, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the bot's functionality
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
- Use the bot in servers that promote hate speech, discrimination, or illegal activity
⚠️ We reserve the right to ban any server or user from using MatchUp at any time, without notice, if we determine they are in violation of these terms.
Data & Storage
MatchUp stores the minimum data necessary to operate. This includes poll configurations, vote records, and server settings. For full details on what we store and how, please read our Privacy Policy.
You acknowledge that poll data may be deleted when a poll expires, when the bot is removed from a server, or when requested by a server administrator.
Intellectual Property
All code, design, branding, and content related to MatchUp are the intellectual property of their respective creators. You may not copy, redistribute, or commercialise any part of MatchUp without explicit written permission.
By using the bot, you do not acquire any ownership or license rights over MatchUp's codebase, branding, or assets.
Disclaimer of Warranties
MatchUp is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind — express or implied. We do not guarantee that the bot will be available at all times, error-free, or uninterrupted.
- We do not warrant that the service will meet your specific requirements
- We do not guarantee accuracy of timezone calculations in all edge cases
- Discord API changes may affect bot functionality at any time
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MatchUp and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of data, missed events, or scheduling errors — arising from your use of or inability to use the bot.
Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of MatchUp shall not exceed zero dollars ($0), as the service is provided free of charge.
Termination
You may stop using MatchUp at any time by removing the bot from your server. Upon removal, server-specific data may be retained for a reasonable period before deletion.
We may terminate or restrict access to MatchUp for any server or user at our sole discretion, particularly in cases of abuse, ToS violations, or legal requirements.
Discord's Terms of Service
MatchUp operates within the Discord platform and is subject to Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Use of MatchUp is contingent on compliance with those terms.
MatchUp is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Discord Inc.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Significant changes will be announced via the MatchUp support server. Continued use of the bot after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
We recommend checking this page periodically. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
